Two Sides! When you’re printing something, you need to consider that there are two sides to the thing you’re printing on.

It’s really the most basic of things, but you never waste a leaflet by printing on just one side because there’s a 50/50 chance it’ll be thrown to one side and just show a piece of white card!

So, you print on both sides.

The same goes for business cards. But, if you want cheaper business cards, then there are many companies who will print them for you, to a high quality, only 50% of the card will have their advertising on it.

Which isn’t great, unless you want business cards in a hurry and don’t mind advertising a business that has nothing to do with you.

Which leads me to a question – which side of you are people seeing?

Is it the side advertising something that you don’t want people to focus on? Or the side you’re crafting?

We’re not supposed to be two faced. And we’re not supposed to project an image that is false.

But, we do need to consider what people see and unless we’re careful, they’ll just as easily see the side of us we’d rather keep hidden.

So, what do people see when they see you?

Just a thought...

[00:00:00] So another Andy B Two Minute Video.

[00:00:10] Now in the week one of my sons, Steven, was looking at some advertising type stuff for some of our ministry that we do, and what could we do, and what options are there, and what should we do. Anyway, he saw some business cards. I thought maybe business cards is something we should think of. So I said, great, go and do a bit of research, find out what the costs are. Let's at least look at it and get some information.

[00:00:32] So we started looking at, oh, these are, these are really cheap business cards, and they're really good, high quality. And I guess this is a, what something something, that a lot of printers do is that you get your good quality print on the one side, but on the flip side is their advert for business cards, presumably.

[00:00:48] Now these cards are great, and if you just wanna get your name around, that's, that's a, that's a really cheap way of doing it. It's a great service that they offer because it gets you business cards at low cost. The downside, of course, is that you've got a [00:01:00] 50% chance of your business card advertising somebody who's got nothing to do with you and what you do.

[00:01:06] But it's a great service. And it's low cost.

[00:01:10] Now in our lives. What do people see of you?

[00:01:13] If I'm gonna produce a, a flyer or a business card or whatever, having worked in retail, have my own business with the shops we learned quite quickly, you never ever have a, a single-sided leaflet. It's a waste of time. You print on both sides because then there's a 50% chance, when it's tossed down somewhere, you still get to advertise what you want to advertise. So we did everything double-sided. It's basics really.

[00:01:36] Same with business cards. I'd never have a one-sided business card. Use both sides of it! It costs a little bit more, but you're actually using the space you've got.

[00:01:43] If people look at you which side of your business card are they seeing? Are they seeing the side that you want them to see? Or are they seeing the side where you are advertising something that's got nothing to do with you?

[00:01:57] It's worth thinking because a lot of what people see [00:02:00] of us maybe is not what we intend.

[00:02:03] Now when we're at Spring Harvest a little while back it was really encouraging some, some one of the teams on another exhibition stand were saying, You know, we look at you and your two sons, Andy, you are always joyful and smiling. And that really warmed my heart 'cos that's what we're trying to do. We, we are positive we're, we've got Jesus Christ in our lives.

[00:02:21] There's another side to me, I'm not always joyful. But if someone looked at you, which side of your business card, of life, are they seeing?

[00:02:29] Are they seeing the side that you've spent time trying to craft and that you want them to see?

[00:02:34] Or are they seeing the flip side that's more of an incidental?

[00:02:39] Reputations are hard to make, easy to lose. If people look at you, what are they seeing?

[00:02:45] Worth a thought.

[00:02:46] Just a thought.
