S04E032, Sunflowers And Reaching For The Sky, Andy B 2 Minute Video

Sunflowers always make me smile. They always do! There is something truly happy about a sunflower.

And much like sunflowers, we need to try and track the sun. In our case, the Son of God. Little but of wordplay, but you get the idea.

Because we can sometimes feel like God has gone cold either on us, or at us. Either way, we’re wrong – if you’re feeling like you’ve lost the warmth of God’s face on yours, make like a sunflower, and track His face to feel His warmth once more.

Just a thought...

Another Andy B, 2 Minute Video, and this one is more of an outdoorsy kind of thing.

If you've ever, as a child, or with your children, or maybe just as an adult, tried to grow a sunflower, there's a few important things that we need to kind of realise about how this works. And, as a sunflower is getting taller and taller, you can see that sunflower trying to face the sun. Because the sun is the whole point of a sunflower, hence sunflower, they like the sun. So, you don't plant them in the shade. You plant them somewhere they can see the sun.

0:35
But, this got me thinking. Are we reaching for God? Or are we trying to grow in the shade? The shade of other people? The shade of our parents? The shade of the situations we find ourselves in? Or are we trying to grow in the sun.

0:51
The thing is, if you feel like God's face, like His warmth has left you, then He hasn't gone anywhere. That's on us. And we actually need to turn and try and find God again.

1:02
As a small child, one of my grandparents had a really lovely garden, and there were loads of flowers. And, it always struck me that the flowers tried to follow the sun, to face the sun. And, I saw that with sunflowers. They sort of twist a bit during the day, it's kinda cool.

1:19
Don't think that God has turned His face away from you. And that somehow He's gone cold at you, and He's not happy with you. That's the wrong way of looking at life.

1:29
You and I need to try and grow for God. To reach for the son of Christ, reach for the sun in the sky, if you're a sunflower. Or, reach for the Son of Christ as people. Because, in that way, we follow the sun. But we need to track where it is.

1:45
So, if you feel like you can't see the Son, if you can't see Jesus Christ, then He's still there. Just turn your face a little bit and see Him again, and feel that warmth again.

1:59
So, we can all feel that warmth of Jesus Christ on our faces on our hearts.

2:03
And it helps us to know where we are. We need to be rooted in good soil. Rooted in the sunshine, in order for the sun can, the sun can shine on us.

2:15
So, if you feel like God's gone cold and moved away from you, don't worry. Turn your face you'll find Him again.
