S04E029, Change Is Good! No, Really!! Andy B 2 Minute Video

The word ‘change’ can often conjure up our worst nightmares.

It means letting go of things. And learning new things.

It means we won’t be able to use that remote control from memory – we’ll have to stop and look for the buttons we want, that are no longer there, because now they’re in a different position, have a different shape and have a different word – so we walk over to the TV and turn if off by hand.

You know, that kind of change!

But change doesn’t have to be bad. In fact, change is great. Just like the weather and the seasons. We don’t want 12 months of summer, or 12 months of winter. Otherwise, crops wouldn’t go, we’d get fed up, and things in the world would not be so good.

So change is a necessary part of our life, and change is something we should celebrate. Unless it’s the TV remote, then it’s a whole other thing to work out!!

Just a thought...

And, I've been thinking about change, because change is a really good, healthy thing. Sometimes we don't like change, but change is really healthy. And, part of being a Christian part of being redeemed by Jesus Christ, the fact that our, the things we've done wrong have been forgiven, in order that we can get to Heaven is about us changing. We don't just become a Christian and that's all good. The whole point of becoming a disciple of Jesus, a Jesus follower, a Christian, a Follower of the Way, is that we change over the course of our life to become more like Jesus Christ.

Now, recently, we've had quite a large change in our house. Wwe've moved house to a part of the country we've, we don't know anybody, it's completely new to us. It's very exciting, but it's all change.

And, my wife was headhunted for a job, which is fantastic! But, she's been working a late pattern of work for a couple of years, really. And, now we're going to a normal, what you call a nine to five, rather than a 12 till 10 or midnight. So, we've had to change our bedtimesw, and our walks, our morning routine. And, as a family, we've always been the kind of people that we are together as much as we can. We go shopping as a family of five, we don't just go out and do it. We shop together. We, we walk together. We have fun together. We socialise together. And that's kind of how we are. So, it makes sense for us to continue with getting up together. So, as a family, we've all shifted from working an evening, late pattern, to a morning pattern. Instead of getting up sort of 9, 10 o'clock in the morning, so we're up for the evening, nighttime, we're now up at seven o'clock in the morning.

Now, I used to be a lorry driver, and I've got up every single hour across a 24 hour calendar. I can tell you that between 2 and 4am is a really, really hard time to try and wake up, and be conscious.

1:55
But, all we've done is gone from 10am, to 7am, starts every day. But, it's been really hard and it's taken us the best part of three weeks, and we're still not there. It's still a bit too groggy in the morning. Because for two years we've been working in one way.

2:11
But, the thing about changes that is good for us, not unnecessarily. But, good change, that we need to do is good for us. But, it can be tough.

2:20
So, when things are getting tough, 'cos you're trying to change something, stick with it. Go with it. And you'll get there in the end.

2:25
Trust to God and ask Him to help you.
