S03E006, Repentance Prayer, Family Prayer Time

Peter and JoJo continue to encourage us to pray as a family by using prayers found in the Bible. In this episode, Peter and Jo have found a prayer of Repentance or as Peter puts it – a prayer to ask for God’s forgiveness. This prayer is David’s heart cry to an all knowing, all seeing, all powerful and ever-present God.

Peter and JoJo both read out loud this prayer for themselves found in Psalm 139:

‘Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you and lead me along the path of everlasting life.’ (Verses 23-24)

Peter and Jo encourage us to use David’s words found in Psalm 139, in particular the last two verses to seek God’s forgiveness, noting the importance of keeping short accounts with God.

JoJo points out it is good to repent as a family and speak out about our wrongdoing, but Peter notes some repentance may need some privacy – maybe just between you and God!
