We’re always trying to make life just a little easier for ourselves, aren’t we? Well, mostly anyway! And, as we age and mature (again, mostly) we discover things that don’t work, and things that work better.

But how are you with change?

Personally I enjoy needing to change things – it stops things getting boring. It means I have to rethink things I thought I knew, or was certain of. It also helps me remain flexible.

As a family we’ve learned how make videos of the material that we have been inspired to create! We didn’t learn it from a book, or at a college. We simply did it, assessed it, adapted it and rinsed and repeated that. At this stage we’re mostly happy with the quality of what we’re now producing. But we never stop planning, or looking over the work we make, and looking where we can improve what we’re producing.

If we’d stuck to the first attempt, we’d still be using a webcam and it’s microphone…that was a good beginning; the best we could come up with. But we’ve evolved what we do to using a studio green screen, two sets of studio lights, a very upgraded computer, studio quality video camera and video editing software that is outstanding.

The evolution of what we do has meant changing and adapting what we do. And in our spiritual journeys we should always be flexible enough to learn from others; we need to be humble enough to know that we don’t have all the answers and that life is a journey – we don’t arrive until we die, but what an arrival heaven will be!

Until that point, stay flexible, and don’t get too stuck in doing things one particular way. If we learn nothing else from the life of Jesus it is the fact that He was always flexible, because He always made time for things that mattered – other people!

[00:00:00] So another Andy B 2 Minute Video. I've called this ,one I've forgotten the title, Evolving Traditions.

[00:00:12] Now, I've got a notepad, which we use at home, and when we do our planning session in the week for our filming day, we write down the things we wanna record on a Saturday. Saturday we've given over as a family, all of us together, and we do all the filming, mostly, for the BerryBunch Start family for the.

[00:00:29] Now that notepad then comes into its own on a Saturday because as we're working through our list of things, we put a little pink highlighter over some of it, and we know that we've then filmed that. And it's easy to distinguish what's been done and what's not. Then, later in the week, when we're editing, it gets a little blue mark next to the pink mark, and all of a sudden we know, well, it's been filmed cause it's in pink, and now it's got blue next to it we know it's been edited and it's been stuck onto the, ready for.

[00:00:53] And eventually we get the writing that you read around the post and we cross it out because it's all done. It's, it's updated, it's scheduled to [00:01:00] go out. So that little notepad has evolved over time as we learn what we are doing, we find better ways.

[00:01:05] Now Jo and I have always been fairly efficient and organized. We have to be because of the work we've done in the past. You need to know where you've gotta be and when you're gonna do stuff. We all have that need. Bit more complicated with the filming. So if you're doing a Dave Unleashed, there's three elements into that, and the last two elements have to be done before we get to the first element. So it gets a little bit complicated. But we've evolved these processes over time.

[00:01:28] It's really easy to hold into something and say, this works. This is what we are gonna do. We're not gonna change what we do because this is the best way. But, actually, if we are being serious about developing our skills, our crafts, ourselves, we need to also evolve the stuff that we are doing. So we refine it and we make it.

[00:01:47] We often think of the word evolve, don't we, around evolution? The theory of evolution. The problem with that theory, of course, is it's completely flawed! Scientists are running away from it in ever increasing numbers, because the theory of evolution shows things getting [00:02:00] worse. And sometimes we feel in life like things aren't improving. Like they're actually showing what the theory of evolution doesn't want it to show. It's showing stuff that's getting worse actually.

[00:02:09] If you're struggling with the systems you've got in your life, go back to God and ask Him to help you. He will. He created the world in six days. That creativity is open to every single one of us, through the power of the Holy Spirit to help us with our organization.

[00:02:24] Evolve the systems that you're making, refine them, improve them. Let the Holy Spirit shape it as you serve God, as you work through this thing called life, He will help you get done everything that He's got for you to get done.

[00:02:39] Just a thought.
